With Peas

We have been working on this. For a long time.

When T Junior started talking before he turned one, we began insisting on "please" and "thank you." The word "daydoo" came easier, I guess, and he began saying it when reminded around age 1-1/2. And it became routine before he turned two. He doesn't need to be reminded every time anymore.

But "please" was more difficult. Probably because it's not a response. He'd have to remember to say it before he wanted something. It's finally here, though. Well, it sounds more like "peas," but I'll take it.

Yesterday, as I was getting my breakfast ready, T Junior, who was eating his at the table, said, "Mama, I 'wan' some banana, peas." He's 25 months old. That was a complete sentence! With "peas"!

I said, "Well, thank you for asking so nicely, T Junior. Here you go." I put a chunk of fruit on his plate.

"Tank you."

I'm so proud.
