Today, just by accident, I discovered T Junior can laugh.
He was "telling" me about his busy morning at the dog show when he made a funny sound. I began giggling and saw his eyes light up, so I made myself laugh harder. Then, out of nowhere, he was laughing, too. This made me laugh more, which made him giggle louder.
What a glorious noise it was!
I was so excited, I dialed Mr. T at work. "You gotta hear this!" I put the phone on speaker and started laughing...at nothing. For a second, I was afraid this wasn't going to work and Mr. T was going to think I was losing my mind or something. The dog wasn't making me feel better standing in front of me with her head cocked to the side.
But the fake laughing worked and T Junior started in with me. This made me laugh for real, which made him crack up, proving laughter really is contagious.
I Moved!

Don't you love those "first time Mom" moments? I remember the first time D laughed. It was amazing and we have it on video. There are so many wonderful first times with lil ones. Being a Mom is the greatest gift ever.
ReplyDeleteYep, it's pretty great. And, to think, there was actually a time when I considered not having kids at all. I'm glad I didn't listen to myself then. :)
