I've always been big on this concept: first date, first anniversary, first fight ... actually I don't think I documented that one, but you get the idea. Now that we have a baby, this could get out of hand.
Friday was Baby's "First Fourth of July" and we celebrated with our close friends and family at a picnic and then, later, at a small-town parade in Enumclaw, Wash. Here are some of the highlights:
Here we are enjoying Baby's "First Fourth of July Parade":
Baby stayed awake during the second half of the parade. Somehow, he slept through the beginning, which featured fire engines and police cars blasting their sirens. That noisy portion was our friends' kids' favorite part:
Here is the alpaca portion of the parade. What kind of small-town Independence Day extravaganza would it be without a variety of South American camelid decked out in red, white and blue? "Baby's First Alpaca"!!!

One of the most popular sections of the parade featured a troupe of traditional Mexican dancers. Baby was mesmerized by the vibrant colors, movements and the joyful music.

Baby's "First Fourth of July Parade" will go down in the scrapbook as a successful event and we got out of there with only one "Baby's First Poopy Diaper at a Fourth of July Parade." Can you believe that?

A Rossi button? sigh. Didn't you learn anything working at the J?
