Well, my due date was yesterday. 40 weeks come and gone, and still no baby.
Today, I went to see a reflexologist. A friend of mine had both of her babies within 24 hours of having her feet massaged by a reflexologist, so being as impatient as I am, I went to see Julie in Snoqualmie. She worked on my soles for a blissful hour (actually, she went a little bit over but didn't charge me -- thank you, Julie!). "This baby's ready to come out," she said. I told her that's what my doctor said yesterday. (By the way, my doctor also said, "I think you have a 9-pounder in there!" Awesome.)
I had a couple of contractions while I was at Julie's and a couple in the minivan on my way home, but even if I don't have the baby right away, the visit was so worth it.
I feel like a new woman. I have had extremely sore feet for the past several weeks. Yesterday, they were in such pain I would only walk on the outside edges of them. But today, I went for a 40 minute waddle with Lucy because I had new soles! It felt wonderful to be outside and Lucy thought it was great, too. She saw a cat, a man gave her a pat on the head and she got to sniff stuff.
So, thank you, Julie. (And, Lucy thanks you, too.)
